Welcome to NYC Women in Publishing. We're a group dedicated to providing the community of women working in the publishing industry in the New York City area a way to expand their networks and stay connected. NYC Women in Publishing hosts monthly Networking Happy Hours. These events bring professional women from all aspects of the publishing industry together for great conversation and cocktails. Welcome! I'm Keri Witman, the founder of NYC Women in Publishing. I started this networking group to ensure I never again lost touch with the fabulous, inspiring women I've worked with in the past. When I found myself being laid off in the past, I realized I'd been working so many hours that I'd neglected to keep up my network of publishing colleagues. So, I took action and in May, 2008 I started NYC Women in Publishing. Just from one email invitation our first happy hour had nearly 40 women in attendance. The group has grown to nearly 350 women and I get requests to join every week. I hope you will find these events fun and helpful. I sure hope to meet you at one of our events.
